It was a wild weather night outside but the welcome in Portland Parish Church Hall was a warm one. Once again, I transported members back one hundred and twenty-six years to life in Ayr in 1898. I am constantly amazed how new parallels with our contemporary lives pop up, and this time it was problems with sewage which proved freakily similar!
