A Bit of Time Travel for my Prestwick Audience

I was delighted to be greeted by a large and enthusiastic audience at the Prestwick History Group, and especially pleased to be able to talk - for the first time - about events which had happened in Prestwick in that year.

My great grandfather certainly enjoyed poking gentle fun at the folk of the town who are near neighbours to the people of Ayr, and a few laughs were to be had.

After a welcome cuppa, I was happy to attempt to answer audience members’ questions, learn some things I didn’t know about golf in the late 1800s, and prompted by a question, make a note to research information about the circulation of THE AYRSHIRE POST at the time. Thanks to all!
